Experience shows that the easiest and most effective method is to contact the Representative’s office in Washington, DC by the phone<\/strong>. \u00a0However, if for some reason it is not possible to make a telephone call, please at least send an email to your Representative.<\/span><\/h6>\n

It may be worth considering sending your Representative a paper letter<\/strong>.\u00a0 These days, paper letters are going out of fashion, which makes it more likely that you get your Representative’s attention this way.\u00a0 Click here to be redirected to the site of our friends in PASI, where you can find the Representative’s mailing address and print a proposed text (or modify it, or write your own), ready for inserting in an envelope.<\/a><\/span><\/span><\/h6>\n

    How do we talk to the Representative’s office<\/h5>\n

    Call the Washington office, request to be switched over to the Legislative Team, and ask what position your Representative will take on H.Res.664.\u00a0 You should call every day, such a conversation will not take more than 3 minutes.\u00a0 Our goal is to get a definite answer.\u00a0 This method works best.\u00a0 Such brief conversation generally flows as illustrated here<\/a><\/span><\/span>.\u00a0 In any case, please let us know how your conversation went (info@coalitionpa.org<\/span><\/span><\/a>).<\/p>\n

      5. This brings you to the contact page on the representative’s Web site. Follow any instructions exactly (they may vary for individual representatives, but are generally similar), until you are in the page where you can write your message.<\/li>\n
      6. Fill out any required information about yourself (name, email, etc.).<\/li>\n
      7. The most important fields are Subject and Message.\u00a0 You can compose your own phrases, or spare yourself long typing and use our proposed texts, which you can copy from our Web page and paste into your representative’s Web page.\u00a0 Click here to display sample texts<\/a>,<\/span> then copy them (separately Subject and Message), switch back to the rep’s page tab\/window and paste.<\/li>\n
      8. If you learn that the Subject or Message fields have limits on their length, you will have to use your judgment to make your own abbreviations, in a way which best preserves the critical components of your message.<\/li>\n
      9. It would be worthwhile to add the sentence “I will contact your office shortly to schedule an appointment or personal teleconference with you regarding this matter.” at the very end of the message before “Thank you”, but do it only if you seriously intend to do so.<\/li>\n
      10. You can also type your name at the bottom under “Thank you”, but that is not necessary.<\/li>\n
      11. Another important field is the Topic (or Issue) field, which is usually a drop-down list composed by individual reps to reflect their areas of work in the Comgress.\u00a0 You have to find and choose the most suitable phrase; we suggest something like Public Interest, Education, Foreign Relations, Public Relations, perhaps Heritage, History, Remembrance…<\/li>\n
      12. There might be some additional fields to fill out, or “prove you are not a robot” tests to pass.\u00a0 Make sure you follow all instructions exactly.\u00a0 Finally, submit your message.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

        The first step is to enter your address, then click “Submit”.\u00a0 This brings you to the second step, where you choose whom to write to.\u00a0 Since we are now only writing to our representative in the House, remove the check marks next to your senators and click “Write to them!”.\u00a0 This brings you to the main step: actual writing the message.<\/p>\n

        Fill out the “Subject” field.\u00a0 You can compose your own phrase, but to spare yourself long typing, we suggest that you copy the Subject text from the “Sample message to representative” tab on this CPA page and paste it in that field. To accomplish this, you select (highlight) the whole text beneath the “Subject line” (in brown, above the divider line), press Ctrl-C, switch to the democracy.io tab\/window, put the cursor in the Subject field and press Ctrl-V (or use any other copy-paste mechanism with which you are familiar).<\/p>\n

        Likewise, in the next “Message” field, where you will find the salutation correctly filled out by the system, you can copy the rest of the message from our “Sample message to representative” tab on this CPA page and paste it there.\u00a0\u00a0 You can also type your name at the bottom under “Thank you”, but that is not necessary.<\/p>\n

        It would be worthwhile to add the sentence “I will contact your office shortly to schedule an appointment or personal teleconference with you regarding this matter.<\/span>” at the very end of the message before “Thank you”, but do it only if you seriously intend to do so.<\/p>\n

        After that you have to fill out five easy fields about yourself, and then down to probably the most difficult part: choose the representative TOPIC (area of their business).\u00a0 Different representatives will probably have different sets from which to choose, and you have to be specific.\u00a0 We suggest that you choose a topic close to Education, Foreign Relations, Public Relations, perhaps Heritage, History, Remembrance…<\/p>\n

          First, underestimating the strategic importance of Poland and leaving her without assistance allowed the war to escalate into a world war. About 6 million Polish citizens were killed, roughly half of whom were Jewish, most of them in the genocide perpetrated by Germany and the Soviet Union.\u00a0 Remembering such cataclysmic events and their consequences provides important guidance in forming current foreign policies.<\/p>\n

          Second, the world is becoming a more dangerous place, and the United States needs steadfast allies.\u00a0 Poland has been such an ally since the American Revolution. This resolution reaffirms that alliance.<\/p>\n
